Henrietta Lacks

i think im goin to buy this one.im not a fan of hard cover and thick book, but this one seems to have some kinds of charms on me :) LOL! it is about Henrietta Lacks, a farmer who lives with cervix cancer in her. Then one day, she went for a check-up at the hospital. There, the doctor sneakily took a tiny samples of her cell. And guess what? it was widely used in the field of medicine. Until this very day. it is called the HeLa Cells, which contributes a lot to the medical world. Her immediate family got to know about this after 24 years of her death. And they wanted some kind of royalty for the contribution of Henrietta. The best part is, the HeLa cells exist until now. So does it means that a part of Henrietta is still alive?

In this book, Rebecca Skloot actually revealed all the secrets of Henrietta Lacks and the story of HeLa cells.

Cant wait to read it!

psttt, it is a true story.

biology always sooo seducing!but not too much of it ;)
